Shannon joined Wendy H. Schwartz & Associates, PLLC in 2008. Prior to
joining the firm, she interned and clerked for the Honorable Odessa F.
Vincent in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia in both the Family
and Civil Divisions. While clerking, she was involved in the development and
implementation of the Court’s Program for Agreement and Cooperation in
Contested Custody Cases (PAC Program).
Shannon graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in
2002 with a B.A. in political science and history. She received her J.D.,
cum laude, from the American University, Washington College of Law in 2006,
where she was a member of the Journal of Gender, Social Policy and the Law.
Shannon was a research assistant to Professor Stephen Wermiel and interned
at the Law Library of Congress. She also served as a Marshall-Brennan
Fellow,
teaching constitutional law to Washington, |

D.C. high school students.
While in law school, Shannon worked as a student attorney in the Civil
Practice Clinic, representing low-income clients in areas such as
bankruptcy, family law, housing, public benefits, and estate planning. She
currently volunteers at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia
Self-Help Center, providing information regarding family law to
unrepresented litigants.
Shannon is admitted to practice law in Maryland (2006) and the District of Columbia
(2009) and is a member of the Family Law Sections of the District of Columbia Bar
and the Bar Association of Montgomery County, Maryland.
