Kayla S. Vossler

Kayla Stuart Vossler is an Associate Attorney at Wendy H. Schwartz and Associates PLLC.  She joined the Firm in 2022, practicing in all areas of family law, including divorce, separation, same-sex marriages, common-law marriages, and custody matters.

Kayla brings over seven years of experience in the legal field, first working as a paralegal, then as a law clerk, and now an attorney.

Kayla attended Texas Tech University while working part time. She graduated cum laude in three years with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Criminology. Following her graduation and prior to attending law school, Kayla was accepted into a graduate internship program at the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, DC.  Following her Congressional Internship, she attended the evening program at the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. She graduated in 2018 and received her Juris Doctorate with a specialization in Family Law.

Kayla worked full time while she attended law school, first as a paralegal and then as a law clerk at several law firms. The bulk of her experience was in family law, including work on domestic violence, abuse, and neglect cases.

While in law school, Kayla spent a semester working as a student attorney in the Columbus School of Law’s Veterans’ Advocacy and Estate Planning Clinic. She gained valuable experience representing veterans when she advocated for and assisted clients in challenging the Veterans’ Administration. She also assisted clients in executing their wills and planning their estates. As a student attorney, Kayla’s largest case for the Clinic involved preparing and filing an appeal for 9/11 victims under the Public Service Officers Benefits Act with the Federal Circuit.

In addition to working full time, Kayla was elected as the First Year Representative for the Evening Law Students’ Association, then elected as Vice President, and finally President. As a representative of her fellow evening students, Kayla functioned as a liaison between the full-time program’s Student Bar Association President and the law school’s Administration to advocate for the evening program.

Kayla gained invaluable experience assisting family law clients preparing for arbitrations, mediations, hearings, and trials. Kayla’s experience as a paralegal, law clerk, and attorney gives her a unique and in-depth understanding of the time and effort it takes to manage a legal case from intake to trial. Her drive is apparent in all she does, and Kayla is meticulous in performing every task she undertakes. She devises a detailed roadmap for meeting her clients’ goals, keeping them informed and empowered in every step of the process.

Kayla is known for her responsiveness, organization, time-management, and delegation. Kayla excels at litigation strategy and seizes upon the opportunity to implement different client needs into bringing about the desired outcome. She recognizes the real and lasting effects of family law matters on her clients and their families. Kayla always ensures that her clients are truly heard, communicates effectively, and helps her clients understand the challenging legal landscape they face.
